Welcome to the Medical Toxicology Fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC). As the flagship academic medical center of Hackensack Meridian Health, our program offers rigorous clinical training, strong academic mentorship, and exposure to complex toxicologic disease in a high-acuity tertiary care environment. Our ACGME-accredited fellowship trains physicians to become leaders in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of toxicologic disease. We are committed to training the next generation of medical toxicologists who will lead in clinical care, education, research, and public health.

Program Overview
The Medical Toxicology Fellowship at HUMC is a two-year, ACGME-accredited program designed to provide comprehensive training in:

Acute and chronic poisoning

Substance use and withdrawal syndromes

Complex polypharmacy cases

Environmental and occupational exposures
-
Envenomations
-
Toxicologic critical care
-
Medication safety and adverse drug reactions
Fellows are eligible for subspecialty board certification through the American Board of Emergency Medicine and training aligns with the educational standards of the American College of Medical Toxicology.
